On Saturday, May 1, 2010 Shirley A. Washington, owner and president of Clefnotes Media, Inc. (www.clefnotes.com) will be conducting a (3) hour workshop in Springfield, Massachusetts for the Creative Mind Agency, 340 Main Street, Springfield, MA. In today’s Web 2.0 world where it is very hard to stand out as an artist, musician or songwriter it is really important to know the various techniques for “Promoting Yourself in the Digital Marketplace”. Topics to be covered include “Preparing a Press Kit”, Creating a Career Plan and Sticking with it”, “The Importance of Creating a Marketing Plan” and “Internet and Grassroots Marketing”.   

Shirley A. Washington, J.D., M.B.A is the Assistant Director of the Music Business Program at the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development at New York University. She teaches an undergraduate  level course, Business Structure of  the  Music Industry and a graduate level course,  Promotion and Publicity in the Recording Industry.
